One misty morning in November...

... on my way to work

There was no time for a real photo shoot - so I just stopped my car and took this picture with my Android mobile phone.

I love those misty mornings in autumn!

Lightnings...

Another one of my "trial and error" shots:

... the next time I´ll set the focus to infinity, choose an aperture of about 8-11 and keep the shutter open for 15-30 seconds.... manual focussing didn´t work for me... anyway, it was a gorgeous experience and I´ll try to make it better next time! We never stop learning!
Have a nice day!

Be sure to be prepared!

One night in Croatia we saw sheet lightning in the sky for about an hour - I ran to the beach and tried to catch it with my camera - BUT - I was not prepared!
I did not know how to photograph lightnings and I forgot to take things with me that I would have needed, such as a small torch, my remote-control release etc.  ... I was  n o t  prepared for that -> huge mistake!
But neverless I like this one - even though it´s slightly unsharp... and trust me - I´ll be prepared the next time!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Diamonds in the sky

Night photography is one of my newest passions... it gives the most surprising results!

My first try on star trails...

My next goal is a nice shot from the Milky Way... not as easy as I thought (focusing is tricky and there´s too much light in this part of the world at night)

Useful hints are welcome :-)

Some kind of photography

As far as I´m concerned – “photography” was always something I enjoyed while being in far away countries … my husband and I took hundreds of pictures on vacation in Europe, Asia or Central America and the Caribbean…

In addition to that my sister in law gave birth to 3 amazing boys and I enjoyed taking pictures while they were babies and toddlers…

Since we do not travel that much any more and since our nephews are older now – I seemed to stop taking pictures regularly. In my opinion there was nothing interesting in my everyday life to photograph… furthermore I´ve a full time job, which keeps me away from the “good daylight” until it´s late and dim or even dark outside.

To be honest – I´d like to change that – NOW! So I´d love to incorporate photography a lot more in my daily life.

One evening last week – at about 9 pm , when I went out in the garden to turn off the lawn sprinkler, I instantly decided to give an unconventional idea from the  Digital SLR Photography magazine (March issue) a try: "Scanned still-lifes"

It was too dark and too late to take a picture of  the poppies in our garden, so I picked some withered stems and made a scan – I boosted colours and contrast and voilá – I managed to incorporate "some kind of photography" in my life that day – even if I did not use my camera.
This is my result – it took me 20min. from picking the stems to adding the watermark….
